Description

Constructed in 2004, the Ford Atlanta High Velocity Center (HVC) is a 220,000-square-foot parts distribution facility located in McDonough, Georgia. The operation manages an inventory of more than 26,000 part numbers, valued at approximately $16 million. The shipping dock features 13 doors dedicated to both receiving and outbound operations, supported by a fleet of material-handling equipment that includes 3 Sit-Down Hilo's, 9 Reach Trucks, 16 Tugs, and 1 Order Picker.

The workforce consists of 44 Skilled UAW members (including 1 UAW Chairman), 7 Management Salary Leaders (Regional Manager, Superintendent, Inventory Analyst, 2 Lead Supervisors, 1 Supervisor, and 1 HR Associate), and 2 Logistic Leaders. The facility operates on a single shift with staggered start times at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Core functions include inbound and outbound processing, ICSV (Inventory), claims processing, and receiving/shipping.

Atlanta HVC supports 180 facing customers and107 FedEx customers, servicing a dealer base that spans across Georgia, the Florida Panhandle, Eastern and Southern Tennessee, Central Alabama and The Carolinas. The Cost Per Stop (CPS) routes are delivered by Smart Carrier Transportation.  On average, the facility processes 13,200 inbound lines monthly and ships approximately 11,250 outbound order lines daily (236,000+ lines monthly) ensuring rapid, reliable parts availability across the region.
